PACKING LIST: BEACH BACHELORETTE
I have a close friend's bachelorette party in Puerto Rico this weekend, and used my day back home from Asia to shop for some fun outfits and accessories for the trip--definitely not the first time I've been saved by same day delivery from Net-A-Porter. Here are my favorite finds for a bachelorette in a beach locale. Inspired by colorful and vivacious Old San Juan, I gravitated towards cutout bathing suits, playful rompers for nights out, and vibrant heels.
PACKING LIST: TOKYO
This week we leave for Tokyo, which is one of my favorite cities in the world. Tokyo has such a fun and adventurous style when it comes to fashion. True to form, I've been taking the opportunity to do some shopping for unique clothing and accessories for the trip. Futuristic looking leather, kimono style rompers, statement sunglasses and fuzzy coats are all on my wish list. Here are some of my favorites.
PANTS ALICE AND OLIVIA (similar) / SHOES BRIAN ATWOOD (similar) / SUNGLASSES RAY BAN / WATCH CARTIER
We're back in New York for a few weeks and I'm loving this spring weather. I'm a huge fan of transitional dressing, and in NYC it feels like the mild temperature only lasts several fleeting weeks. Here I mixed mohair and sheer silk, and paired the wide leg pants with gold heels and accessories to play up the 70's feel.
WHITE OUT
SWEATER ZARA / JEANS 7 FOR ALL MANKIND / BRA LA PERLA / SHOES ALEXANDER WANG / CHOKERS ARE YOU AM I & ETSY / NECKLACE PURCHASED IN BALI
Here's my take on dressing in all white. Balance with modern black accessories, and keep it casual with an oversized mohair knit that eliminates the need for a jacket.

Luckily, Jeremy and I were able to attend a couple of NYFW events before our trip to southeast Asia. Here are some shots of my favorite looks from the Zac Posen show. I absolutely loved the slinky black dresses, contrasting dark wine/light pink lips, and middle-parted loose waves at his show. I included a closeup and details of the makeup I wore to the show as well.
DRESSING FOR: SIGHTSEEING
At The Peninsula in Manila, Philippines
DRESS A.L.C / SWEATER RAG AND BONE (SIMILAR HERE) / BAG BALENCIAGA / SHOES (not pictured) BIRKENSTOCKS / NECKLACE ETSY
A few tips for sightseeing in style:
Clothing A short sleeved maxi dress or skirt can transition from day to night, and is respectful attire for memorials, museums and houses of worship. Jersey fabric is perfect for a quick stop or layover where you don't have the time or energy to de-wrinkle. A light knit sweater is a nice add on for air conditioned indoor areas or climates that are cool at night.
Accessories The easiest handbags to travel with tend to be messenger bags or long handled shoulder bags, allowing your hands to be free. Make sure it's a bag that zips to keep away wandering hands, particularly in a big, crowded city. Try to keep your logomania to a minimum, as well known logos can create unwanted attention. Shoes should be comfortable--thankfully the Birkenstock trend is back this season, so help keep the ugly-chic flame alive. For a busy itinerary, I personally prefer not to bring sunglasses that I'd cry over if lost--for me, Ray Bans are a nice balance of chic and practical.
Jewelry Just the common sense things you already know. Use your discretion--your bling might fit in well at a nice dinner, but in that same city you might not want to wear your rock on the subway. Simple banded rings and tiny charm necklaces will usually be a nice balance for most destinations.
