I present to you a Hamptons travel guide. Traveling to a new or exotic locale is sometimes stressful, as there can be an obligation to check off everything on your to do list. This pressure is absent in a local summer destination, and there's no need to do anything but relax on the beach by day and enjoy some cocktails by night. Don’t forget to visit the farm stands, 100% the thing I miss most when I’m not out there—Amber Waves, Balsam Farms and Milk Pail are all favorites I visit regularly. If your schedule allows, I strongly recommend extending the weekend and staying for the weekdays. Midweek is significantly less crowded and the traffic (probably) won't make you suicidal. Here are our tried and true favorites.

Where to Glow

JECT Well...of course.

White's Apothecary East Hampton and Southampton staples that carry drugstore necessities, as well as a well curated selection of higher end brands. These include Dr. Dennis Gross, Caudalie, Avene, Shiseido, Fresh and Diptyque, along with pretty much any suncare brand you need for beach days.

Montauk Salt Cave A cave made of pink Himalayan salt, where you can hang for a 45 minute session. There is said to be many benefits from breathing the salt-charged air, including relief of pulmonary symptoms and anxiety relief.

SLT A megareformer class and my preferred workout out east. I also sprinkle in Barry’s and SoulCycle at the Barn!

Botanica Bazaar A beautifully curated selection of natural beauty brands located in Amagansett Square.

Where to Eat

Farm Stands: Amber Waves for local produce, Balsam Farms for greens, eggs and specialty items, and Milk Pail for the best pies ever.

Morty’s Oyster Stand My namesake restaurant :) A roadside restaurant on the stretch with the best oysters and one of the best beverage programs out east (IMHO)

Rita Cantina Worth the hike to Springs. Our chef, Eric Miller, studied menus and ingredients from the best restaurants in Mexico City to bring this menu to life. It’s Michelin Star quality food but still in keeping with a very laid back, Springs feel. The craft cocktails are incredible here also, with margaritas. Open early Spring-December.

Provisions Natural Foods The only organic grocery stores out east (Water Mill, Sag Harbor) with an amazing cafe and to-go selection in Water Mill—salads, sandwiches etc.

Breadzilla Only the real ones know. Expect Soup Nazi service and the best sandwiches ever. Make sure to check the hours and menu ahead of time.

Calissa The best Greek food, the spicy feta dip and fish entrees are incredible.

Estia’s Amazing casual roadside breakfast and Mexican food, you can take out or eat in the garden in the back.

Hampton Chutney Delicious, lightened-up dosas wth a hippie vibe. Made of legumes, they're naturally gluten free and low carb. The #9 is my jam.

Carissa’s Yummy breakfast, pastries and sandwiches.

Mary's Marvelous Great for takeout breakfast and lunch. The pastries and egg sandwiches are perfect for breakfast, and I strongly suggest the spice rubbed chicken breast with avocado, bacon and chipotle mayo to tote to the beach for lunch (the gluten free wrap is impressively delicious). Skip the smoothies, except for the Revive if you've had a rough night.

Simply Sublime I was so excited when I first visited this spot in Springs. This adorable all-organic shop offers delicious and very reasonably priced smoothies, juices, acai bowls, sandwiches and salads. Also functions as a fairly extensive market full of necessities such as nut milks, frozen meals and superfood-packed snacks.

Duryea's Lobster Deck The most beautiful backdrop on the water in Montauk that serves a bomb lobster cobb salad and whole fish.

Where to Play

Ruschmeyer's Designed to make you feel like you're back in summer camp, the inside has a clubby vibe post-dinner hours and the outside is a great place to frolick. For dinner, the pizza is amazing.

Surf Lodge You already know. Best during the day, with a beautiful location right on Fort Pond. They have a live performance lineup through the summer with some great acts. An Endless Summer is one of my favorite cocktails out east. Keep in mind you can’t park here, so plan accordingly.

Gurney's After a facelift several years ago, this is certainly not the Gurney's of my parent's generation. The best place to stay if you don’t have a house!

Wolffer Another daytime option to enjoy the east end's favorite beverage (rosé all day). The Wine Stand has live music and is very kid friendly, the Estate is beautiful and slightly less casual. Both have a beautiful and fun atmosphere, lively little alcoves surrounded by the vines. Go after the beach and stay until sunset.
