TRAVEL DIARY: ISTANBUL

Istanbul is a beautiful crossroads in many different ways--east meets west, old meets new, classic meets modern. We were lucky enough to visit with one of my closest friends, Ferrah, who happens to be Turkish. Her family gave us some great pointers on where to stay and what to do beforehand, and once we arrived they welcomed us with open arms and plenty of advice to guide us. It was so nice to have a local's perspective on such a big city.

Travel hack: powder cleanser. No carry on restrictions! 🙌🏼 I’m really enjoying this OG @tatcha formula with rice bran, silk protein and papaya enzymes that I recently rediscovered in the depths of my skincare cabinet. With the addition of water, it turns into a creamy foam that leaves my skin smooth, radiant and moisturized. It’s gentle enough to use in the morning, but effectively removes SPF and makeup at the end of the day. The brand makes this in several different formulas geared towards different skin types (brilliant!). This one is perfect for a drier climate and cooler temperatures, though in the summer when I’m more oily I’d likely opt to try the Deep formula. It’s also pH neutral, cruelty free and derm approved as its free of comedogenic and irritating ingredients! Does anyone know of other powder cleansers they’d recommend? I watched J set lofty goals and achieve them. We overcame setbacks and came out stronger as a result. I learned more about trust and friendship, leaving toxicity behind and the values I hold dear than perhaps any other time in my life. I started a new job in my dream field. I can honestly say I’ve never been happier and I can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store. Happy New Year 🥳
